Ahmedabad: Woman tortured by husband, in-laws as she gave birth to baby girl

AHMEDABAD: A woman named Farzanabanu Pathan, 24, has lodged a complaint at Vatva police station against her husband Safankhan Pathan, mother-in-law Samabanu Pathan, elder brother-in-law Sahilkhan Pathan and father-in-law Firozekhan Pathan for torturing her mentally and physically for giving birth to a baby girl.
According to the FIR, the complainant who had a love marriage with her husband about three years ago, has alleged that on October 19, 2020 her husband and mother-in-law beat her up as her husband's clothes were not washed."At that time the complainant's elder brother-in-law and father-in-law also came in and said that Farzana needs a battering. There torture was so intense that the complainant at that time consumed some acid from a bottle lying in the bathroom. She was taken to civil hospital but as it was a household matter she had not registered an FIR", said a police official. The FIR mentions that after that, as her in-laws wanted to throw her out of the house, she is now compelled to lodge an FIR.
"We are investigating the details mentioned in the FIR and gathering evidence before taking any action" said a police official of Vatva police station
